INK – Individual Notes of Knowledge
by Justin Overton
I never really thought about ink as having so much importance, but as I sit here and jot down my thoughts I realize the power it has to flow the thoughts from my head to this sheet of paper. As I do this I am thinking aloud how many influential essays, articles, memoirs, novels, poems, and speeches, and even plays couldn’t have been formulated without the works of ink. The Holy Bible, the Constitution, the Emancipation Proclamation, the Gettysburg Address, Dr. King’s speeches, the Pledge of Allegiance, the Star Spangled Banner, and the list goes on and on. Famous poets, directors, and even musicians have to start with a pen and a pad. It is so simple yet mosaic and intricate. People devastate lives with ink or create something innovative and inspiring with it. The choice is yours.
